Catherine Liddell is known for her sensitivity and skill as a continuo player on theorbo and lute and has appeared with many leading period instrument ensembles in the U.S. and Europe including the Handel & Haydn Society, Boston Baroque, the Seattle Baroque Orchestra, Apollo's Fire, and the New York Collegium.

A frequent participant in the Aston Magna Festival, she has also performed in the Boston Early Music Festival, Connecticut Early Music Festival and Northwest Bach Festival.

Ms. Liddell has nurtured a special interest in 17th Century French lute music. Recordings include four CDs as well as a vinyl LP, all of which may be sampled using links on the LISTEN page. She was also featured in several videos, now available on YouTube via the WATCH page.

She is currently Lecturer in Lute at Boston University, teaches regularly at the Lute Society of America bi-annual summer seminar, and is serving her third term as President of that organization.
